I believe that we all have an inherent responsibility to be good stewards of our community and I want to serve in order to make a difference to ensure the future and prosperity of Dunedin. I bring a fresh viewpoint that is grounded in my service to the United States Navy to include, providing executive leadership, managing large organizations and projects with direct oversight of personnel, financial and infrastructure resources.

Biography
Robert (Rob) Walker is a candidate for Dunedin City Commission, Seat 2. Rob has made a career out of service to his country and his community. Rob is a Navy Veteran having served on Active Duty and the US Naval Reserves for a combined total of 33 years. Having achieved the rank of Commander, Rob served in numerous leadership positions on Nuclear Powered Submarines and Carrier Strike Force Staffs which entailed numerous Persian Gulf, Western Pacific, and other global deployments. Rob is a recognized community leader having served on several community and academic boards and is passionate about being a true steward of the community. Recent examples include serving as the Dunedin Boat Club City Liaison as well as the Dunedin North Rotary, Community Service Coordinator. Other community affiliations include membership in the Elks Club and Lifetime Member of the VFW. Additionally, Rob is a USCG licensed Captain with the Caladesi Connection Ferry serving Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands where he has worked closely with the Pinellas Sheriff’s Office, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and Florida State Parks to advocate for safe boat operation and to protect the environment of Honeymoon and Caladesi Island state parks.
Rob is known for his ability to listen to all sides of an issue and to build relationships both in business and community affairs. Rob can be trusted to make informed and sometimes difficult decisions which are based on consensus; and Rob is the best candidate to manage fiscal resources and to ask the right questions on important community issues. In addition to his Military Service, Rob brings a strong business acumen which includes executive leadership positions in Defense, Aerospace and Engineering. His experience is exceptionally grounded in his academic credentials which allow Rob to build consensus by analyzing the business case while applying a firm understanding of the technical and engineering details of large infrastructure projects. Academic credentials include:

- MS Chemistry – San Diego State University
- BS Chemistry – University of the Pacific
Rob has earned a reputation for remaining calm under pressure, effectively problem solve and lead a team. Rob is by far the best suited candidate for Dunedin City Commission because he brings depth and experience to the position. Rob has accumulated a diverse set of experiences and accomplishments which bring balance, business and technical acumen to the Dunedin City Commission. Rob is the founder of a Veteran Owned Small Business and has served in Corporate Business Unit, Project Management, Marketing, Communication and Public Relations leadership positions. In the course of Rob’s corporate career, he was integral to Government Affair strategy which entailed advocacy on numerous international defense and aerospace concerns.

Rob and his wife Claudia met is San Diego, CA in 2002. In February of 2022, Rob and Claudia applied for and received Dunedin Historical Designation on their 1930 Florida Bungalow located in the historic neighborhood of Belle Terre on Garden Circle North.
In their free time, Rob and Claudia enjoy spending time on their boat Blind Date.
