Sierra Club Endorses Robert Walker for Dunedin City Commission Seat 2
St. Petersburg – The Suncoast Group of the Sierra Club officially announced its endorsement of Robert Walker in his race to be elected to Seat 2 on the Dunedin City Commission.
“We are proud to endorse Robert Walker, a United States Navy veteran and environmental steward who monitors water quality through his role as a local ferry Captain,” said Dan Huber, Sierra Club spokesperson. “Robert Walker is a lifelong conservationist whose career in the Navy gave him a profound appreciation for the quality of our water resources.”
Robert Walker served the United States Navy on Active Duty and in the Naval Reserves for a combined 33 years and is now a USCG-licensed Captain with the Caladesi Connection Ferry serving Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands, where he works closely with local law enforcement to advocate for boating safety and environmental protection. He is a strong supporter of Dunedin’s Resilient Environmental Action Master Plan and the City’s plans to achieve 100% clean energy through participation in Sierra Club’s Ready for 100 program.
Robert Walker has spent a lifetime on the ocean, understands more than anyone the importance of Florida’s natural resources to our quality of life, and deserves to be elected to the Dunedin City Commission.
